Denia - gastronomy and life in its purest form
Denia is a city located in the northern coast of the province of Alicante and is the capital of the Marina Alta. In normal seasons of the year, Denia has a population of approximately 42,000 inhabitants but in summer... there in the summer... in summer the population is multiplied by 5, reaching more than 200,000 inhabitants. Denia is the municipality that more tourists or vacationers attracts and is that we have many things to tell you...
On December 11, 2015 it was UNESCO Creative City of gastronomy. In the video that you have put at the beginning you can see the full spot that was held for this feat.
Climate
The climate of Denia is very soft and fairly constant since the average is about 18 °. During the coldest month is usually January the half-round the 11th and the warmest month being August the average is 30 °. More local people often say in Denia we have a micro extraordinary climate where, it is the time of year that is, living here is a luxury.
Transport
Denia is connected along the N-332 road and also through the AP-7 whose output is the 62. It also has a bus station and a railway line which links Denia with Benidorm and Alicante. Unfortunately there is a line that communicates with Gandia or Valencia. This is one of the major complaints that city dwellers have.
History
The town is at the foot of the Montgó as conducive a Bay and natural harbour serving much to the Arabs and later Christians since Denia was considered a strategic point to keep in mind. The Castle built by the Moors is owned by the city since 1952 and has an archaeological museum, which is an important example of local history. It has recently been renovated but still retains many original walls in good condition for it that your visit is a must. Underneath the Denia castle there is a tunnel that connects the Center with the beach and was a great refuge for the inhabitants during the civil war.
Beaches
Denia has 20 km of coast where you can find beaches of all types. In the northern part is the most large and Sandy, in the southern part, near the Montgó, beaches they are beaches and rocky coves. All the beaches each year, are recognized by the certificates ISO 9001-200 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) that guarantee the perfect condition of the beaches getting, year after year, the well-deserved blue flags. There are two area of very distinct beaches which are marine and Las Rotas.
Culture
In Denia you can find lots of culture, great cuisine, steeped in history and especially many parties since it is one of the population of Spain having more parties in your calendar.
